Would it taste weird to replace milk with soy milk in a crepe recipe?

We ran out of milk and I’m far too lazy to run out to the store. The recipe I have for crepes requires milk, but we do have soy milk, the Kirkland brand. Would it taste weird or would it be the just about the same? I don’t want to try it however, since 24 disgusting crepes would be really unfortunate.

yes. very. another option is make one small crepe as a test.

If you’re a picky eater, you probably will notice, if not, then try it!

well same just watered down a bit!

i dont think it would ive done it before and they tasted the same just a bit more soy-er :P but good XD

I don’t see why it would taste any different. As long as its not flavored soy milk.

it will taste just about the same if not better. i use soy milk frequently in place of regular. a lady friend buys it.

If you want to try something different, try soy milk. Soy milk is very high in protein (and other good for you ingredients). Also, soy milk tends to have a nutty flavor to it, depending on what flavor you have. I say, go for it. You could land on a new favorite.

it would be fine if you normally are OK with soy milk. I use rice and soy milk in recipes all the time. If you like soy milk then it’ll be good. If you hate it (like I do) then you will be able to taste it. But the recipe will turn out fine.

You could use water or, if you have to have milk, add a little more vanilla to the recipe to offset the flavor of soy milk.

EWWW NASTY I WOULDNT WANNA HAVE THOSE CREPE’S!!!! lol jk, it would just taste a bit watered down i guess, you might not even notice it.

ohhhhhhhh yea. that would taste very odd.very.

I was in your same situation with jello pudding. I used soy milk since I was out of regular milk and it was horrible. It didn’t even set right. I wouldn’t chance it if I were you. I absolutely love soy milk, but for me it didn’t work out in my jello recipe. Of course crepes are different, but still I would hate for you to do it and then it turn out terrible.

I prefer the taste of soy milk over cow juice…absolutely!

IT might taste a tad “Off” but it wouldn’t alter it to something you have never tasted before…

Add a bit more fat to the reciepe to replace what would be in the milk and you should be just fine.
