why will my dwarf hamster not eat veggies?

my dwarf hamster will not eat any veggies at all- the only treats i have convinced him to eat are brazil nuts and bread – but he wont take cheese or carrots and apples of strawberries or zucchini; ive tried all sorts of things. I want him to be healthy; why do you suppose he wont eat these things? and is there anything i can do to convince him to?

maybe he doesnt like they way they smell, they dont appeal to him

he just simply doesn’t like them. my hamster is the same way, except shes like a little kid, wanting everything that’s not good for her and rejecting plants. he might change his mind later.

try a small piece of fresh, uncooked broccoli. I’ve yet to meet a ham that can turn it down. And leave it in the cage for a while if he won’t take it right away. He may be like my nephew and have to work his way up to trying new food. worse comes to worse and he doesn’t want it – he’s a ham. Their bodies know when they need something. You can keep experimenting but don’t worry if he doesn’t want things. If his body needed them, he’d eat them. good luck.

My ham will never eat veggies either, (snow peas, broccoli, carrot, or tomatoes) but he loves cranberries!!
