Why does chocolate go stale so quickly at work?
I have this brand of chocolate that I love. I keep a stock at home and love it. But I’ve tried to bring it to work for a nice snack, and it just doesn’t taste the same. I put it in my desk, and by the next day, or even the afternoon, the chocolate just as no taste. What could cause this?

Maybe its because its not good quality chocolate or something.Try keeping it in an airtight container to see if that helps
Temperature will affect chocolate, it needs to be kept in a relatively cool area.
It may simply be improper storage….try keeping the bar in a tupperware container, or sealed plastic bag. Chocolate is molecularly porous, and can potentially absorb scents, or odors from its surroundings. Aside from the obvious cross contamination, its the same reason we don’t store snacks with cleaners, or why you never use the baking soda from the back of the fridge for baking…if you did your cookies would taste like old refrigerator. So…..sorry for the rambling, and hope you enjoy your chocolate a bit more. Hope I helped.
when i put the glasses back in the cubboard the glasses the smell like wood and the drink tastes nasty maybe thats whats happening with you the chocolate might taste like wood
Hello,
Chocolate very easily absorbs the flavors and scents of other items that it is stored in. You may sore it in a air-tight container such as tupperware, just be sure that the plastic does not have any odors from other foods that was previously stored in it.
My suggestion would be to purchase an inexpensive glass jar with a seal and store all of your chocolate bars in it on your desk.
Not only will it preserve your chocolate, but, it will have a heavenly aroma of your favorite chocolate when you open it.
It will also decorate your desk and let everyone know about the chocolate lover that you are!
I hope that this has helped you out! If you love chocolate here is a great link for you to visit!
