Which oils are good for the skin?

This year I want to become more healthier with everything, not just with food. I want to stop using lotions as moisturizers and just use natural oils. Which oils can I use on my skin when I get out of the shower and which oils are not good/safe to use on my skin.
Can I mix olive oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, and jojoba oil (not to sure about the soybean and jojoba) together, should I use just one exclusively?
Does anyone know if they sell body oils pre-mixed that I can buy and use? I already use olive oil and coconut oil on my hair and I swear by those two.

FYI: Do not say Johnsons Baby Oil, its nothing but mineral oil.
Thanks for the fish oil suggestion but Im vegan. Sorry, forgot to mention that part.

Why don’t you *take* Vitamin E oil and some Omega fish oils? Both are wonderfully healthy for your skin AND you’ll actually be able to hug people afterwards without slipping right out of their arms.

- Omegas can also be derived for Flax Seed oil and, I think, Borage oil.

do you have a natural food store in your town? whole foods will work in a pinch, but a more localized, “homegrown” store is better. you are so right about mineral oil. it is a cheap filler; very comedogenic (causes blackheads). stay away at all costs. there is really no reason why you couldn’t mix them, but you probably want to try them out one by one and see which ones affect your skin the best, as your skin is different than your hair. your skin probably isn’t as dry, as you probably relax, or at least texturize, your hair, and you don’t use chemicals on your skin. (i say this based on your avatar; if you don’t, i apologize for the assumption *grin*) the whole foods website says for dry skin, you should use Olive, Almond, Avocado, Borage oils, so maybe try those out. as for olive oil, i wouldn’t use the stuff just from the grocery store. i would first look in the natural store, and see if they carry a body care grade olive oil. it will probably be more expensive, but, i’d be afraid the kitchen olive oil would just be greasy and sit on the skin, as opposed to actually absorbing into it. also, if you don’t like the smell of some of the oils, look into adding a few drops of a natural essential oil (also available at most natural stores) just for scent. be sure to smell it first; they usually have sample bottles available. ask an associate for help if you aren’t sure.
good luck!

I use mineral oil when I get out of the shower and it works great! Olive oil is also very good for the skin, since you already love it for your hair…….
Check your local health food store.

pure vitamin E oil is great. jojoba & olive oil is good too. maybe sweet almond oil may work for you also. I’m not sure soybean oil is good for your skin though.

Artistry has a great product called essential moisture plus. It’s an oil that you put on your face for moisture and all of their products are natural and not tested on animals. The cool thing is if you try any of their products and don’t like them for any reason they will give you a full refund. You can’t buy their products in stores but I can give you the direct link so you can read about it and even buy it if it sounds like what you’re looking for.

I hope this helped. Happy New Year :)

For ur BODY u could use olive oil or almond oil they are wonderful. Olive oil can also lower the growth of ur body hair some African nations like ancient Egyptian used it for that reason. also almond oil can treat stretch marks and prevent the reappearance of new ones.
For ur HAIR, coconut oil will help ur hair grow longer in short time, Indians use it all the time. If ur hair is dry use almond oil, if u want a shiny hair use olive oil (try to massag scalp every week when applying the oil an leave for an hour then wash).
For ur EYE BROW and EYE LASHES use coaster oil as it thicken them (apply it to aye lashes at bed time with an old cleaned mascara brush every day).
I don’t recommend using oil on ur face as it’s heavy and may clog the pores causing acne.
Try eggs for ur hair, it softens and elongates it.
U could mix oils together but I’m not sure about the ones u mentioned. And u could find premixed body oils in stores that sell natural products.
I advise u when buying any kind of oil, to look for ones made
for eating as they contain less artificial substances.

I just finished up with radiation treatments. I used a blend of oils that i made up myself, and i did not burn. My scars even stayed soft. This was a blend that i originally made for just out of the shower, and to use of my feet (i hate cracked feet!). The radiation dept says that my blend is awesome so now i am researching it to market
