Where in the grocery store are sesame seeds located?

I am making honey chicken next month and I am not sure I have seen sesame seeds in the store.

Also, we shop at Wal-Mart if that helps. It is the only store in the city. If we have to go to a ethnic foods store to get them we would have to drive an hour to Knoxville.

They’re usually in the same area as the packaged nuts used for cooking/baking.

It couldn’t hurt to ask at the store if they carry them.

In the spice section prob/cooking shit

Sesame seeds are usually found in the Spice section (Spice section can be found in the Baking Supplies aisle) in a small jar or tin under the major brands like McCormick, etc. I’ve never had a problem finding them. I think Walmart does carry them. If Walmart doesn’t carry them, you can always order them from a reputable online Spice business, like Penzeys…

herbs and spices in the Baking Aisles! Look in the little bottles and canisters. Walmart same thing.

They are usually located on top of the Buns in the bakery dept

Sesame seeds can typically be found with the other bottled/dried herbs and spices.

Too, many stores carry toasted sesame seeds in larger containers near the Asian foodstuffs

at my store they are in the baking products aisle.. with the slivered almonds, etc. They may be in the spice aisle, in bottles.

They are usually with the seasonings near the baking isle good luck

In the Asian section probably, but finding anything out of the ordinary in Walmart is generally an annoying experience. Why not save yourself some hassle and just order them on amazon, though? You can get a lot of them really cheaply. I found a bag of them just now for $2.

You can find sesame seeds in the spice area (apart from on buns as some one stated earlier on. Duh to that remark ) They are rather more expensive to purchase them that way.

I usually buy 2 lbs from the ethnic stores at about $3.00 – more precisely the Hindu store, I store them in the freezer in sizes that I can use. I myself have to travel and hour to get them at that price but I make a list of all the supplies I need from the hindu store so I do not make a trip but for once every 2 to 3 months.

I get my Ghee, all my spices, flours, dals and anything I may be needing to cook for that length of time. Some things I cannot get at the regular or the ethnic groceries so I buy them in bulk and store them for later.

Usually they’ll be with the other spices. It’s hard to believe a Wal-mart wouldn’t have any. Why don’t ya ask a couple of the store clerks?
