What will happen if I eat 20 year old sesame seeds?
I was making food and the recipe called for sesame seeds. We have this little spice cabinet in our house that has been there for like 20 years and there were sesame seeds in there. I put them in the food while it was still cooking in the pan. Do sesame seeds expire or what?

sesame seeds have a lot of oil, and oil goes rancid. I would suggest that the seeds are rancid.
viable seeds were removed from the pyramids……. so I guess they are okay.
lol Have you already eaten the food you made with them? did they smell ok? To be honest if you cooked them, and they didn’t LOOK rancid, they will probably be ok. I wouldn’t worry.
