What type of peanut butter is best for baking?
Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone knows what brand of peanut butter is best for baking cookies and fudges? I am using Jif but my cookies never really have a peanut butter flavor. I love peanut butter and want my baked goods to have that flavor. Can anyone help? Thanks
I usually do add more than the recipe asks… anything else i could try?

Add more peanut butter?
Sure…. Skippy Crunchy is my favorite to use. And I just add a bit more than the recipe calls for…you can do that and not ruin it, you know.
I make cookies during the holiday season and have found that cheaper is better for baking. I have tried many brands of peanut butter while making my filled peanut butter pop cookies and the more it costs the less I like the outcome. With some things the better brand is what you want but I feel that with peanut butter it is the exception. I hope that I have helped you in this matter. Good baking to you.
Oddly, I have found that the store brands of peanut butter have been the best. I always use creamy style.
if u like it crunchy, crunchy peanut butter
if you like it smooth, smooth and creamy is the way to go .
add a small amount of chocolate in it , to bring flavor

I like using the freshly ground peanut butter you get from Whole Foods. Since it is made of only peanuts, you may need to add a little more oil to your recipe, but the fresh peanut flavor is great.
I’ve always had great results with the store brand. I haven’t ever seen the point of buying the more expensive name brand when the store brand gives you the same results…
