What is the essential oil of Geranium dissectum called?
“Geranium” essential oil is from a plant of the genus pelargonium… True Geranium is called? It has an odd name, I think, I use to know it but have forgotten.
I need to know so that I can order some.

Rose-geranium oil, syn. geranium oil bourbon is the volatile oil of Pelargonium graveolens:
The essential oil of Geranium species is produced from Geranium macrorrhizum (bigroot cranesbill)
and Geranium sanguineum. Its scent is like a combination of lemon, mint, and sage, not like roses . But it has the name “geranium oil” too.
An essential oil from Geranium dissectum I couldn`t find. Here some uses:
Another publication may explain it:
“Geranium oil has been used in perfumes and as a food additive since the 1800′s. It is on the GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) list of the United States Food and Drug Administration. Geranium oil is extracted from plants of the family Geraniaceae, frequently by steam distillation of fresh plants. A variety of species of geranium plants exist throughout the world. The oils extracted from most geranium plants have approximately the same chemical constituents. “Geranium oil bourbon,” however, derived from Pelargoniwn graveolens Ait. from Reunion Island off the east African coast, has a unique composition, including a higher level of the semi-volatile alcohol citronellol than do geranium oils derived from other species and varieties. “
Are you thinking of Zdravetz?
There are hundreds of Pelargonium species, and thousands of varieties. The nomenclature is far from exact, and may be meaningless.
