what is the best way to catch rainbow trout?
i never caught rainbow trout before only catfish and bass
i wanna catch one in lake mead but i don’t know how to catch them what them. what is the best bait or something to get some trout??? or what ever big fish in lake mead?

I always use corn, it works really well.
well sinse lake meed is a very deep boat, and the deeper you go the colder the water gets, and any kind of trout loves cold water, so use alive earth wormsm, not meal worms, and a long fishing string to go deep,
we catch them on the fly in england there easy to catch over here if you dont have a fly rod try worms
if you dont have a boat its hard to catch trout out of a lake!!!
if you do then you have to go out and locate them 1st
then you need to get the bait down to where the fish are
if they’re plentiful you’ll catch one
Ledgering is the best bet if you are fishing from the shore ,, and try simple worms as bait they love them.If however you have access to a boat you should consider fly fishing but the equipment can be expensive or you could try some spinning its easy fun and cheap

You have few options, personally i catch them on a fly rod, but you can use Berkley power bait or a small mepps spinner. try angelfire.com and look under the fundamentals of fishing.
Use a jig with a live minnow or worm, and work the transitions from deep to shallow water. You could also do a vertical presentation with a small flourescent circle hook with a live worm or minnow, and a splitshot 10inches up the line. Start at the botttom and spend 5 minutes there, then reel up a few feet and try five minutes there until you either get a fish you reach the surface. If no fish, try a new spot. Work areas systematically so as not to miss any honey holes. Otherwise I would use small spinners tipped with bait, they are easier to cover a large area when searching. Smaller is better.
I think it is easier to catch them in the river below the dam. that’s where I have caught them, anyway. Use spinners, velveeta cheese, worm, powerbait, etc.
You probably have to rent a boat to do very well.
