What is the best tasting milk replacement?

I want to go vegan, but I HATE the taste of soy milk. Is rice milk or almond milk any better? What do those taste like?

I personally drink Rice milk (called rice “drink” because the milk industry went kicking and screaming to the usda because its not “milk”). I think the one I drink is Rice Dream – I put it in my daughters cereal one morning and she didn’t even notice lol…..

Soy milk tastes beany.
Rice milk tastes watery.
Almond milk tastes nutty.
Hemp milk tastes kind of yucky.
But So Delicious coconut milk is just right!
Seriously, for drinking, coffee, cereal, tea, baking and cooking, it is the best-tasting cow’s milk replacement there is. We don’t use anything else at our house anymore.

I like Rice for cereal and hemp milk for smoothies and shakes because it’s thicker and nuttier tasting.

rice milk is more watery, but it still has that soymilkish taste, almond milk is really good-almond breeze especially.

I think your best shot is with almond milk. The rice milk also has such little protein and it is probably the least good for you compared to the others—plus i dont” think u would like it if u dont liek soymilk

hope that helps!

ALMOND MILK!!!!! YUMMY!!!!

Rice milk tastes very good. It’s a little sweeter than soy milk, milder, and thinner. I had almond milk just once but I think it tastes better than soy milk too. I prefer soy to rice milk just because soy milk has more protein. Try the chocolate soy milk – you might like it better.

I really like rice milk…Rice Dream is my favourite brand. You can get it in different flavours too, like vanilla or chocolate.
Try the sweetened or vanilla soy milk if you haven’t already..you might find you like them.
Oat milk is quite nice too, but not so good on cereal. It tastes like a really thin watery porridge. You can also get oat milk in different flavours.
Then theres almond milk, quinoa milk and hemp milk, none of which I have tasted. You’ll find one you like eventually so experiment with different brands and flavours.

I use almond milk. In smoothies and recipes you can’t even tell the difference.

Of course, that might be because I make my own, so it’s not full of HFCS and flavorings.

(Put one cup raw almonds and three cups of filtered water in the blender. Puree and strain.)

Rice milk is quite watery but very tasty.

However, my favourite milk is Oat Milk! Yum yum yum. It is a bit like porridge in taste but a very very subtle porridge. It is perfect for tea and cereals as well as cooking and has a nice consistance in texture.

Not sure about almond milk as I am allergic :P

My advice would just buy once of each and try them all :)

there are many types of milks, nut, grains, soy, rice, almond, etc.

it is unfortunate that cow juice is considered a milk…gross…

The best tasting milk for me, is Almond Milk – the vanilla flavored.

Occasionally I buy Rice Milk too. It’s good

Soy Milk – I buy the 8th Continent Fortified Soy Milk cause it has Vitamin B12, the vitamin that is hard to get in a vegan diet.

Once, I was feeling adventurous so I tried Hazelnut milk, it was pretty good too just make sure to add a bit of sugar.

I LOVE almond milk! Rice has a “clay”ish aftertaste (like you just ate playdough, haha). I still like rice milk, but I prefer almond milk. I agree, plain soymilk is gross! i do like the chocolate though :)

I used to enjoy Almond Breeze almond milk and now I make my own at home. Almond milk is creamy, and I’ve never found it grainy or chalky like I find rice milk. I’ve never tried the flavoured kinds.

i like almond the best, but i’ve heard a lot of people don’t like it.

you should try some different brands of soy milk because they all taste different. Whole Foods’ brand is tastier than Silk, I think.

I’ve only had almond breeze for almond milk. I liked it a lot.

Almond milk hands down. Rice milk is too watery and Soy milk has a weird after-taste. I find almond milk works best for baking too.
