what is the best sweetener to use in apple, peach and cherry pie for diabetics?
the fruit itself has fructose naturally. is it a bad idea to use a top and bottom crust because of the additional carbs it will add as opposed to a single crust pie? any general tips or proven recipes will be appreciated! would like to minimize the after taste some artificial sweeteners create.

You may not need sweetner Splenda is the most expensive But good most hospitals have diabetic clonics with a dietition
believe it or not you can use apple sauce instead of sugar or sweetener my mother does it all the time she is a type 2 diabetic you can’t even taste the apple sauce it tastes like you used sugar try it see if you like it
Slenda is the best.
You can also use “Altern” from Walmart. It’s less expensive then “Splenda”
Both my husband and I are diabetic. I have not found a better sweetener than Splenda when it comes to cooking or baking. I always convert my regular recipes by using Splenda, but I generally add just a tiny bit more Splenda than regular sugar. It seems to give it a more sweeter taste.
If you are concerned about carbohydrates then I would only use a top crust since the fruit also has carbohydrates.
Here are some good websites you might want to check out: splenda.com, jell-o.com
Happy baking!
