My friend once said that the frosting in the oreo is pig fat, or lard. Is that true?

Yes, it is lard and sugar. Lard is rendered pig fat.
creme in is in the middle of an oreo but your friend is kind of right it is like a frosting. But think frosting on a cake is creamy and in the oreo it is not. It is creme.
