what is best to take for stomach pains?
I have sharp pains and bloating all the time. I go to the bathroom a couple times a day, but my upper and lower stomach always hurt. Gas X? Beano? Licorice root? Ginger?

It sounds like you have irritable bowel syndrome. There are two kinds, one is IBS with diahrea which is that your food moves through you too quickly, causing painful cramping. The other is constipated IBS, like I have. My food digests very slowly, and I have bloating and a crampy stomache. Occasionally, it backs up, then I have severe cramping, pain and get diharea.
You probably need to see a gastroenerologist if you have insurance or can afford to do so. He will put you on a prescription or a diet high in fiber, including lots of fruits and vegetables. You can get over the counter fiber drinks or pills, but remember when you take them to drink lots of water or they can cause the constipation to be worse. The fiber treatments work for both constipation and diahrea adding bulk to your bm’s.
If the pain continues it is very important discuss these symptoms with a Dr. I still have pain too, that comes and goes. My digestive system is messed up, including Barrett’s esophagus, a severe form of GERD.
I wish you the very best in getting your digestive system in better shape soon. I know how troublesome having these kind of problems are…kind of make a person want to stay home.
Along with healthy fiber, the gas x might make you feel better.
ginger is a good all around stomach calmer, but if you eat a lot of foods that have complex sugars in them(as would be the case if you have a diet heavy in veggies) then beano would be a good choice, gas-x is good if the cause of the pain is specifically in the stomach and not intestinally/abdominally caused
also, you may consider that you have ibs(irritable bowel syndrome), a common problem usually resulting in bloating, cramping, irregular bathroom visits etc. commonly associated with stress and present in roughly 15% of americans
