What is a chocolate chip cookie without the chocolate chips called, and how would it taste?

Is it just a brown sugar cookie or something?

What were they called before the chocolate chips were added?

Probably like a sugar cookie without sugar sprinkled on top. Brown sugar is not used in chocolate chip cookies unless the homemaker has a unique recipe.

oh that is apalling! no chocolate chips? ugh it would taste like the tears of a baby deer crying for it’s mom. very bad. just kidding but i wouldn’t want to make cookies without the chocolate chips. :)

maybe the chips are already in the cookie only it has blend…

when i make my dough, its sugar cookie dough until i stir in the chocolate chips

nooo its just called “chocolate chip cookie without the chips”
everyone thinks its a sugar cookie but its not. sugar cookies are like a whole different species lol.

MMmm i’m rarely a fan of the chocolate chips so i just like the cookie part. I dont think it has a name. I think if you tried to eat them a lot, it would be pretty boring, they’d probably need some frosting or something. I’d probably call them ‘flat cookies’ because they are usually quite flat. Oh and theyre not sugar cookies, those are harder and lighter in color.

It would not be a sugar cookie. Sugar cookies are white and do not contain brown sugar, chocolate chip cookies do. It would just be a cookie. It would probably taste OK, but not great.
They were called cookies before someone thought to add chocolate, just not a special kind.
