what ingredients in hair products are harmful- Espically to African American Hair?



i’m growing an afro- its been about 5 months and its medium low still. im a 17 year old boy but my hair looks dry too me.It started after i put a whole can of halloween spray in my hair and sleep with it on. I use blue magic super sure grow now but didn’t before it became dry.

these indgredients are in the blue magic product- Petrolatum, Coconut oil, Oil Lanolin, Shea Butter, Jojoba seed oil, Japaneese Green Tea, Safflower Seed oil, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf extract, Echinacea Angustifolia Extract, Trigonella Foenum- Graecum seed extract, Cola Acuminata seed extract lawsania inermis( henna) extract, Fragrance

are any of these ingredients harmful to my hair. and what should a boy with a fro wear to sleep?

well any product containing petrolatum isn’t good. as petrolatum is derived from petrol…and that isnt something you should be putting on your head!

use baby shampoo

You should try using all organic products. Things that have sulfates and alcohol is also bad for your hair. I use Biotin shampoo and conditioner by a brand called Jason. There’s also a pretty good hemp shampoo and conditioner by them. You should try the olive oil hair care too. It works wonders, olive oil is one of the best things for your hair and skin.

Avoid sulfates
