What happens when you add raspberry vinegar to brownies?

I heard that raspberry vinegar brings out the flavor of chocolate when you bake with it. What will happen if I add it to my brownie mix then bake as normal?

It might end up flat because you are adding acid to something that contains baking leaveners like baking soda and baking powder – it may use up the leaveners, create the reaction too early, and you end up with bricks for brownies.

I wouldn’t add any unexpected acids to recipes which use chemical leavening. That is most baking (a chemical leavener is baking soda or baking powder).

May I suggest instead raspberry jam? And don’t forget a pinch of salt to enhance the flavour.

You will only need a tablespoon about. I ad a tablespoon of white vinegar to chocolate cake to make it moist and tender. I will work for brownies too. The flavor will be so minute you probably won’t even notice.
