I’ve got one tin of them in olive oil and one tin of them in sunflower oil.

I’ve never tried them in sunflower oil. But the other I eat right out of the can or cut up and add to a tossed salad.

Somebody posted the same Q. but with Mackerel.
With sardines Open drain oil and serve with pepper and salt on buttered toast. Simple-delicious.
That is hard to answer because there is no one type of fish that is used for sardines.. and you would have to know the type of fish. The easiest way is just hold your nose and eat them with saltines.
throw them out and eat a stick of pepperoni instead.
