What are some ways to use vinegar to deodorize and clean the home?

I heard that if you spray diluted vinegar around the house it’ll help keep it fresh, is this true? What else can be done with vinegar? I’m expecting my first child so I’m hoping to learn other non-toxic ideas of cleaning. Have any other suggestions?

if you google homemade cleaners, you’ll find that diluted vinegar 1 cup white vinegar to 1 cup water can deodorize countertops and everything else. The vinegar smell will dissipate over time.

vinegar is great mixed with water on windows also great for garbage disposals its also natural and cheaper than household cleaners

A good general purpose cleaner is made with a 1/2 cup white vinegar,
a cup of rubbing alcohol, and a drop of dawn dish washing liquid. Put this mixture in a 1/2 gallon jug–like a rinsed out milk jug–and add warm water until full. You can transfer it to a spray bottle and use it
like you would spray cleaners–counter tops, etc, or use it to clean
the floors.

White vinegar is great at removing detergent when used in the final rinse–you won’t need fabric softeners. Add a cup to the final rinse when you do laundry.

Freshen drains in sinks and tube by pouring 1/ cup baking soda, then 1 cup white vinegar. Follow in 30 minutes with 1 quart of hot–boiling is good–water. (I use my tea kettle.)

I’ve heard that you can spray a kitchen towel with vinegar, and walk around the house swimging it through the air, and it will help rid the house of bad smells, especially fish. I have not tried it.

White vinegar is good for cleaning out your coffee make, too. Just
fill the coffee maker with white vinegar, as you would if you wer putting water in to make coffee. Let it run through it’s cycle, drain–might be a good time to use that vinegar with the baking soda in the drains–I do it in the kitchen every time I clean the coffee pot. Then run 2 cycles of water through the coffee make, to remove the vinegar taste. (I forgot that step once, and the coffee was nasty!)

Good Luck! I’m sure there are other ideas out there!
