How to cook turmeric
Deep yellow in color, this spice is made from a root related to ginger. It has a sharp, woodsy taste. Widely used in Indian cuisine, turmeric is added to potatoes and lightcolored vegetables for both taste and its yellowish orange color. Turmeric can be substituted for saffron.
