Thanksgiving Dinner Menu?

Me and my bf recently moved into our first apartment. I will be almost 9 months pregnant by Thanksgiving so traveling to our familie’s houses for the holiday will not be an option. This will be my first time cooking for Thanksgiving, and I’m not exactly sure what to make. I am creole and black and he is cuban and black so we’re used to slightly different cooking. Also, neither of us like stuffing, so do we have to put it inside the turkey for the flavor, or is it unecessary? I’ve made my “rough draft” of the menu I’m thinking about. Tell me if there’s anything I missed or if you guys can think of anything else or if you know what Cubans traditionally have besides Yuca. Thanks so much. (I’ll be making all of this from scratch I hate boxed crap for the holidays it takes away something special).

Small butterball turkey (has to be butterball!)
Mashed potatoes
Green beans
Yuca
Cranberry sauce
Bread rolls OR Corn bread
Yams
Collard greens
Pumpkin pie

That sounds really good! They don’t really recommend stuffing turkeys anymore, so don’t worry about stuffing.

I’m black, though neither Creole nor Cuban. Your menu sounds fine to me. You might add some eggnog and/or some wine. My brother usually buys a wine called Nouveau something. If you can find Holiday Spiced Wine–yum!

Nouveau Bolais?

Happy Thanksgiving!

how about some nice rice….. hmmmm Sweet Potato’s with little marshmallows :D

Damn, that sound freaking good! That is a true Thanksgiving dinner that you are having. It sounds very good.

You seem to have all the good stuff. I always cook Mac and Cheese for my kids. Oh, and you gotta have stuffing and sweet potatoes!
