Simple Crock-Pot recipes with simple ingredients, but tons of flavor?
I would like to expand my crock-pot recipe book. I honestly can only make pot roast, which amazing considering I cant cook. I would like recipes that are simple and delicious. Dessert recipes would also be nice, no cobblers. Thanx for any and all of the ideas.

Nice site. I collect recipes, and particularly enjoy the ease of crockpot and pressure cooker recipes in our busy lives. Crockpots take a lot of the work out of getting dinner on the table, especially on sports nights.
So glad to have found this post. It is full of good recipes. Thanks for sharing. I will keep visiting this site very often.
I like making Terrikki (sp?) chicken.
a regular size container of terrikki sauce
chicken (legs or breasts or thighs…doesn’t matter)
a can of pineapple chunks drained
a dash of ginger
Wash the chicken and put it in the crock pot. Pour pineapple chunks and sauce over it. Sprinkle a dash of ginger on it. Cook on high for about 4-5 hours.
Serve it with the veggies and potato of your choice.
It can also work with using different sauces…BBQ, Lemon Pepper or Italian Dressing.
Beef Bacon and Barley Soup
Easy super tasting crock pot soup
Makes: 8 Prep Time: 15 min Cook Time: 7 – 8 hrs Ready In: 8.15 hrs Servings:
INGREDIENTS
4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1and 1/2 pound boneless beef steak cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium onion chopped
4 small red potatoes cut into 1/2 inch cubes (about 2 cups)
1 and 1/2 cups fresh baby carrots cut in half length wise
1 cup frozen corn
½1/4 cup uncooked regular pearl barley
2 14oz cans beef broth
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes with basil garlic and oregano undrained
1 12 oz jar beef gravy
DIRECTIONS:
Cook bacon in large non stick skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes. Stirring frequently
Add Beef and onion salt and pepper; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until beef is browned
Into 4 quart crock pot layer potatoes, carrots, corn and barley. Top with beef mixture. Pour broth tomatoes and gravy over top. DO NOT STIR!
Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. Stir before serving
Next time you have a baked ham for dinner, save the bone with about a cup of ham left on it. Take a package of dried navy beans, rince well, put in large pot with water to cover two inches and bring to boil. Boil two minutes. Remove from heat and let stand, covered one hour. After one hour, pour beans in crock pot, add ham and cook on low all day. do not salt, the ham will flavor the beans. Great taste. And beans are good for you.
I typically use this combo with a beef roast, however, you can use any meat you like…for instance…chicken breasts or pork roast or chops. You only need 3 ingredients. This is the best part! (And they are all cheap)
You will need: Your choice of meat, 1 regular size can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 pkg. of dried onion soup mix (like Lipton or Knorr). Here is what you do: Place your meat in the crock pot…top with the canned soup and dried soup mix. Put your crock pot on low and let her go the whole day until dinner time. It is very flavorful…very simple…very cheap…and whats better still is that both of the soups plus the juices from the meat make a lovely gravy on the bottom of the crock that you can use to spoon over the meat itself or potatoes or whatever
Remember that you can jazz this up any way you like. You could also add an assortment of veggies to the pot if you like as well.
Someone asked a similar question a couple of months ago; you may want to try some of the recipes from the earlier question. The question was ‘Anybody know any slo cooker recipes?’ asked by Hailstone Mary. One of the links (http://www.easy-slow-cooker-recipes.com/) even has dessert recipes that aren’t all cobblers (rice pudding, bread pudding, hot spiced fruit, and apple coconut crisp).
Instead of the ‘slo cooker’ search on recipezarr, which returns lots of recipes that don’t use a crock pot, I would search on ‘Crock Pot’
Here’s my fave crock-pot recipe (from Cooking Light September 1999), mostly because it is a little different without having any hard-to-find ingredients, and I like the sweet/sour/spicy combination. I use natural chunky peanut butter in it, but whatever you have will work. I shred rather than chop the cooked pork, using 2 forks. If you have regular rice, that’s fine too. It’s not very saucy, but, if you want it wetter, add more of the teriyaki, vinegar, pb. I don’t bother chopping the peanut garnish; once I smell this I’m in a hurry to eat!
Thai-Style Pork Stew
Stew:
2 pounds boned pork loin, cut into 4 pieces
2 cups (1 x ¼ inch) julienne-cut red bell pepper
¼ cup teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons rice or white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup creamy peanut butter
Remaining ingredients:
6 cups hot cooked basmati rice
½ cup chopped green onions
2 tablespoons chopped dry-roasted peanuts
8 lime wedges
1.To prepare stew, trim fat from pork. Place pork and next 5 ingredients (pork through garlic) in an electric slow cooker. Cover with lid, and cook on low-heat setting for 8 hours. Remove pork from slow cooker, and coarsely chop. Add peanut butter to liquid in slow cooker; stir well. Stir in pork.
2.Combine stew and rice in a large bowl. Top each serving with onions and peanuts; serve with lime wedges.

Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs
These ribs are a great main dish for when friends come over to watch the game.
3 1/2pounds pork loin back ribs
1/4cup packed brown sugar
1teaspoon salt
1/2teaspoon pepper
3tablespoons liquid smoke
2garlic cloves, chopped
1medium onion, sliced
1/2cup cola
1 1/2cups barbecue sauce
1 . Spray inside of 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
2 . Remove inner skin from ribs. Mix brown sugar, salt, pepper, liquid smoke and garlic; rub mixture into ribs. Cut ribs into 4-inch pieces. Layers ribs and onion in slow cooker. Pour cola over ribs.
3 . Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Drain and discard liquid.
4 . Pour barbecue sauce into shallow bowl. Dip ribs into sauce. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs. Cover and cook on low heat setting 1 hour.
Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

“For a delicious, no-fuss ham that is juicy and good, try this slow cooker sensation with only two ingredients!”
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 (8 pound) cured, bone-in
picnic ham
DIRECTIONS:
1. Spread about 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar on the bottom of the slow cooker crock. Place the ham flat side down into the slow cooker – you might have to trim it a little to make it fit. Use your hands to rub the remaining brown sugar onto the ham. Cover, and cook on Low for 8 hours.
Use a cheap cut of beef that is lean (chuck roast does not work too well because of fat content).
Put 1 cup water in crock pot, and add 1 pkg. dry italian dressing mix and 1 plg. Zesty italian dressing mix. Stir. Put meat in pot and cook on low all nite or all day. Shred with 2 forks and turn on high to simmer for about 30 min. Put on sub rolls for a delicious italian beef sandwich. Leftovers freeze well and can be heated in microwave. My family likes this served with hot sport peppers or Kosher dill spears.
