How to cook sesame seeds


The tiny flat seeds of a plant native to India, sesame seeds have a nutty, slightly sweet taste. Sesame seeds are used as a topping for bread and crackers. A paste made from the seeds (tahini) is combined with chickpeas to make hummus. Toast seeds before using them to enhance their flavor.
