Ricotta a sub for sour cream?
I hate sour cream, cottage cheese and cream cheese. I’m making a lasanga casserole in like 30 minutes and was wondering if I can substitute ricotta for sour cream? I think it would taste delicious, especially in lasanga. If I can sub it, I imagine I use less ricotta since it is thicker than sour cream, correct? Please help!!! I’m about to start it soon!
It wasn’t a real lasagna but a casserole.

There shouldn’t be any sour cream in lasagna. Ricotta is normally used in the cheesey layer between the noodles and the sauce, with some egg and grated parmesan and chopped spinach or Italian parsley.
Ricotta cheese is a substitute for cottage cheese – or vice versa. You don’t put sour cream in lasagna – you use either ricotta or cottage cheese and mozzarella – I think you need to check a new cook book.
Go to. Then food substitutions. They may help you.
