How about a cheesecake?
Depending on what kind you make, they use cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, and/or milk.
cream cheese and apple flan;
1 & half 1b cooking apples
quarter pint water
2oz castor sugar
4 oz cream cheese
quarter pint single cream
half level teaspoon cinnamon
1 level desertspoon sugar
1 8inch baked pastry case
for the glaze;
3 level teaspoons cornflour
quarter pint apple juice
a little cochineal(red colouring)
peel,core,slice apples,simmer in water & sugar very gently till tender
when cooked,drain well,saving the juice,leave to cool
beat the cream cheese till smooth,beat in cream,add cinnamon and sugar
spread over bottom of pastry case
cover with apples,pour glaze over,leave in cool place till glaze sets.
To make glaze;
blend cornflour with a little of the liquid,put rest of liquid on to heat
pour onto mixed cornflour,return to pan
bring to boil and boil for 3 mins.stirring all the time,colour a pale pink with the cochineal(only use a drop).
good luck
