If you need a total of 15 pounds at $5 per pound, multiply the two numbers to figure out the value of the 15 pounds of mixture:
15 * 5 = 75
So, you’re looking to make $75 worth of mixture.
5 pounds of cashews at $7 a pound costs $35
10 pounds of almonds at $4 a pound costs $40
Therefore 5 pounds of cashews plus 10 pounds of almonds will yield 15 pounds of mixed nuts for a total cost of $75 (which works out to $5 a pound).
