New to corn farming – Maybe?
I am considering getting into corn farming but really don’t know where to start. Currently have 200+ acres that was farmed recently in corn and soybeans and also have most of the equipment needed to start. My problem is I have never farmed and don’t know where to start. Any suggestions on how to learn or where to get the knowledge I would need to get started?

A local crop advisor or FSA office would be usefull.
See if there’s an older farmer in the area that you could help in exchange for his teaching you what you need to know, things like how to know when to plant, how deep to plant, how to pick varieties, weed and bug identification, and a thousand other things he’s learned the hard way.
County extension agent would be a good place to start.
i live in a farming district in Oz. Your best bet first is to speak to other farmers first, find out the price per yield etc and get some advice from them..
