Need milk and milk products in Korean?

For my friend who’s going to Korea. In Hangul please, as they would appear on a food product ingredient list or be shown to show someone.

Anything to do with milk. Just plain cow milk, sheep milk, any other animal milks, milk powder, milk solids, milk protein cheese, cream, butter, whey, casein, lactic acid etc.

Soy milk, rice milk, coconut milk, etc would also be good so he knows what milk is suitable instead of just seeing the word ‘milk’ thinks it’s no good.

Would also appreciate phrases for no milk products, may contain traces of milk products, suitable for the lactose intolerant, suitable for vegans (And I mean vegans, vegetarians will still eat milk)

Thank you.

‘우유’ means “milk” in Korean.

A few examples:

초코우유 : Chocolate Milk
딸기우유: Strawberry Milk

두유 means “Soy Milk” in Korea, as “두” is a prefix meaning “beans”.

Hope I helped you -

Rain has listed some examples your friend might see. Here are a few more that I can sort of remember.

우유 is the Korean word for milk, but sometimes milk can also be spelled 밀크 (I noticed a lot of brand labels would spell the word milk this way, because it’s the hangeul spelling of the English pronouciation).

낙농제품 or 유제품 = dairy/milk products
유당 or 락토오스 = lactose
탈지 우유 or 탈지유 = skim milk
분유 or 탈지분유 or 분말 우유 or 가루우유 = dried/powdered milk
버터 = butter
양의 젖 or 양젖 = sheep milk
크림 = cream
유장 = whey
유산 or 젖산 = lactic acid
유즙 단백질 = milk protein
밀크 푸딩 = milk pudding

완전 채식주의자 = vegan/complete vegetarian
채식 = vegan diet
야자 과즙 or 야자유 = coconut milk (though the second one is use mostly to mean coconut oil)

Also, just incase, if you friend is ever in the situation where he is not 100% sure about something containing milk or not, and would like to ask the service person.
이 음료에 우유가 들어가요?
Ee eum-ryo-eh oo-yoo-ga deul-eo-ga-yo?
(Does this beverage contain milk?)

Or if they are out eating and want to make sure non of what they are having contains milk.
전 유제품을 안 먹어요.
Cheon yoo-je-poom-eul ahn meok-eo-yo.
(I can’t eat dairy products)

I tried to write the romanization as close to the pronounciation as I could. I’m not use to it, so it may be a little weird. Any characters with the ‘ㅓ’ (eo) lettering is pronounced like ‘aww’.

That’s all myself and my friend can remember right now. I hoped this helped a bit!
