Have you tried mixing rice cereal with baby food? Some babies don’t like runny food.
well my mom deals with babys all the time and shoot i do to i work for a daycare so what we do is take the baby food and mix it in with the rice cerel cuz our baby is the Exact same way mix it in with the food and then like as time goes on use less and less cerel and more baby food gradually pulling him or her off the baby food k hope i helped god bless ^_^
Then don’t give him baby food.
Give him the same healthy foods that you eat, only cut up smaller so he can pick them up and feed himself. No one MAKES you use jarred baby food, and the vast majority of children are able to pick food up and feed themselves after 6months of age.
Skip the purees, feed him real food. Things I let my then 7.5 month old eat: sweet potatoes, cooked bell peppers, mangoes, peaches, bananas, soft meats, all kinds of fruits and veggies.
Your job is to provide healthy foods and his job is to decide when and how much solids he’ll take in. Just remember, solids before 1 year are more for fun than out of nutritional necessity. He doesn’t HAVE to take in solids, and if he’s telling you that he’s not ready by refusing healthy home cooked foods, then there’s no problem with waiting another few weeks or months.
Believe me, he’ll eat real food when he’s ready.
Mix the food half and half with the rice cereal. Then just gradually add more food and less rice, you could even start out with 1/4 food and 3/4 rice and every couple days add a little more.
When I first introduced my daughter to solids, I realized that the directions made the cereal too watery. So, I added more of the cereal than the formula to it. She enjoyed it much more. Try each feeding with a little bit of solids. If he doesn’t show interest after a bite or two, then give him the bottle. Make it a happy time
Stick him in a walker or high chair and feed him, then lay him down to feed him the bottle.
You can mix fruits or veggies in the cereal. Another trick you can use… just to get the healthy stuff in is to alternate. Give 2 spoonfuls of cereal then sneak in a spoonful of veggies.
