Meal ideas for family of 4 on a budget?

Money is tight at the moment and I’m looking for meal ideas for 2 adults, a five year old and a 14 month old. Nothing with too many ingredients so my husband can share the cooking load (he’s not so that good where cooking is concerned)

Thanks
Stella : That site is fab. Thanks!

well for the kids maybe your husband can make mini pizzas with the kids. ( shredded mozzarella cheese, english muffins and Ragu red sauce)
for you and your husband you could put the Ragu sauce on some spaghetti.

Sheppard’s Pie
1/4 to 1/2 lb ground beef
can corn(or cream corn)
can of creamed soup(mushroom,celery)
mashed potatoes

Cook and drain the meat, mix corn(drain if whole corn) and soup(undiluted) and meat, mix well.
Make mashed potatoes and smear over the top of meat mixture.
Bake in oven at 350 degrees till the top of potatoes are lightly browned(approximately 30-45min)
Instant 1 pot meal :) )

there’s lots of options here. You can try spaghetti, hamburgers, tacos, and burritos. none of these things require a lot and its cheep to make

yeah pizza and pasta are good ideas though i understand if you want to keep healthy and try some variety.

try this website

you check the boxes of all the ingredients you have at home and it gives you simple recipes to make with them

good luck :)

A pound of ground turkey, an onion some garlic powder. Brown together, add to a box of cooked mac and cheese. Spaghetti with sauce. But to make it taste extra special, I sautee half a red pepper cut into strips and a zucchini then add the sauce and simmer. It makes a delish veggie spaghetti, my kids love it and don’t even notice the veggies after I put the Parmesan on top!

Crock pots are good to have because you can get the less expensive cuts of meat and they still come out good. This link is for crock recipes:

Also, I posted this for another person the other day (don’t want anyone thinking I stole someone’s answer)

Try and find this cookbook (or one similar) at your library, 4 ingredient cookbook by publications international.

My daughter uses it and likes to make the stuffed meatloaf…and we love to eat it! LOL It is good :0) Easy to follow, simple recipes.

I posted a link below for you to look over….3, 4, and 5 ingredient recipes you can find on the web. With so few ingredients they should also be easy to make.

Not sure if you will be able to click on those links., if not just try a general search for 4 or 5 ingredient recipes :0)
