List of Indian lentils with English names as well?



I need to know the English names of lentils and possibly other ingredients that Indians use for cooking, but I also need the Indian name as well. Thanks!

Dhal? A lentil curry dish.

“Anna” is correct, and there are over 200 types, moog dal, kushi dal, channa dal (chickpeas), tur dal and sag dal.

From brown to red, black, to yellow and green, small to large alot are split and like peas need to be soaked or cooked right from dried.

I like red lentils, as they cooked the fastest and thicken the dishes with no real added flavour.
