Is there a soy milk that tastes close to or exactly like whole milk?
I’d love to go vegan from vegetarian but I hate soy milk. Any alternatives like soy meat that taste exactly the same?

You should try rice milk. It doesn’t taste exactly like cow milk, but it doesn’t have the bite to it that soy milk has.
Silk is pretty good, especially their chocolate flavor. I don’t think you’ll find anything that tastes much like whole milk, though, as plant milks tend to be lower in fat and have no cholesterol. I’ve tried oat milk, and it’s fairly creamy, too. Rice milk and almond milk are available, but they’re thinner than soy and oat milks.
As for analogues, I have yet to find anything that really fooled me, except for maybe Gardein, which I believe is a soy-wheat product. Yves makes “Chicken” Style and “Beef” Style strips of Gardein, but I haven’t found Gardein”fillets” at the local store.
If you can learn to make your own seitan (wheat meat), that’s a pretty good substitute in any meaty recipe, but again, it’s got a different texture and is chewier than most meats.
Many natural foods stores have soy nuggets, which are very similar to chicken nuggets. And Gardenburger has a few “meaty” veggie burgers; just read the label, as many of their varieties contain dairy.
Nope- there’s not one that tastes the same or even similar. Since you don’t like soy milk- try the flavored ones- vanilla, chocolate or chai. I drink the Silk plain light- it’s a little bland, but I like it. Then, I use Silk vanilla creamer for my tea- the creamer is really good. I can get Blue Diamond almond vanilla milk at Publix. You might like that one- it’s really sweet.
Trader Joe’s Soy milk is thick like whole milk, but sweeter and it does have that soy aftertaste. Rice milk has no after taste, but it is thin like skim milk.
Unfortunately, regular soy milk will have a nutty flavor to it. If it will be to drink in coffee or something, silk creamer looked, tasted and had the consistency of half and half to me when I tried it straight from the container. I used it with some soy milk in a vegan green bean casserole though and after cooking it was entirely too sweet for me. It could be that the cooking process made it taste sweeter, so you may just want to try it yourself. Soy creamer is often used in vegan ice cream recipes.
No, there isn’t b/c they aren’t made of the same thing. I recommend chocolate SILK soy milk. I don’t like soy milk either, but the chocolate really helps.
Again, plain soy meat will not taste like regular meat. Besides, it’s all about the sauce, right? I like to get sloppy joe mix and use it with Morning Star Crumbles and it tastes pretty much the same, apart from a slight difference in texture. Also, Chik’N strips are pretty good, too.
Good luck.
There is no soymilk that tastes exactly that dairy milk, no. It’s not possible to make the one taste like the other, at least not without some additives that you DON’T want to drink.
Have you tried different brands of soymilk? The first time I tried it, I couldn’t stand the taste. I don’t recall what brand it was, but I tried several different brands and finally came across one I really enjoy. I stick to the silk soymilks, too.
If you haven’t already done so, you might try the flavored milks. Soymilk comes in vanilla and chocolate as well as plain, and may even come in strawberry flavor.
I don’t care much for rice milk, though you might consider that as an alternative. What I do really like is almond milk, even better than soy.
As for the meats, you are going to be sorely disappointed if you go around looking for “meatless” meat products that taste “exactly the same” as their authentic meat counterparts. Most of the “soy meat” products I’ve tried have tasted good, but by NO means have they tasted anything like meat.
Tofu is a good option as a meat replacement, though, if you let go of your fixation on the taste of meat. The beauty of tofu is that you CAN make it taste exactly like anything you marinate it in. So if there is a particular sauce that you like, soaking tofu cubes in it for a few hours will make the tofu taste identical to the sauce, and then add the tofu cubes in as the meat substitute of something else. I make a “Tofu Helper” by tossing in frozen-then-thawed tofu to the pasta and sauce contents of a Hamburger Helper box.
Maybe you should make your own soy milk, that taste great.
Try this? I made this on and off. It taste great. Moreover, everyone loves it. We eat this often during the breakfast, in Singapore. Remember, do not eat too much at one time, as it is very filling.
