Is there a natural sweetener in coconut?
I have often wondered if the full potential of the coconut has been explored. When you eat one (the flesh), you get a near-bland taste, depending on how ripe it is. However, if you happen to add a piece of bread (or any food item that has the faintest amount of sugar in it), the sweet taste becomes exponential, far in excess of the amount of sugar in the food item and the coconut. Next time you have the oportunity to eat a raw coconut, note the taste with and without a piece of bread, and you understand what I am talking about.
You also get a creamy taste that reminds you of diet sodas. Could it be that there is a natural sweetener in the coconut afterall?

No. Coconuts come with no added sugar. No cookie for you, but thanks for trying.
yes, in my country of birth, we have variety of coconuts and they are really sweet. You can eat the flesh directly out of the shell by scooping with a spoon.
