Is it safe to use coconut oil to help heal a nose piercing?
Hi
I just got my nose pierced (nostril, not septum) about a week ago and have been applying saline solution and coconut oil to the piercing to clean and heal it. Is this a good method of cleaning or should I be using something else?
Thanks
Alcohol and hydrogen peroxide both ruin new skin that is being created to heal the wound, so that’s not the best way to go.

umm any kind of oil will probably make u have a zit and u dont want one on ur nose so umm try umm that alchol like stuff thats in a brown bottle
The less you put on the piercing, the better. If you put a number of different products on your piercing, it could become irritated.
The ‘healing’ part of a piercing is carried out by your body, not by what you put on it. Technically, nothing you put on it is going to help it heal.
Keeping it clean fights off bacteria, and in turn, infection, but no product can heal your piercing for you.
