Is it safe to eat expired honey?

I want to cook a sauce that requires 2 tablespoons of honey with balsamic vinegarette. The honey I have is a few months expired, but I have no time to go to the store. Is it safe to use, or should I scratch the idea?

no its just sugar,

It is fine. Honey doesn’t go bad. The expiration date is a marketing thing to sell more honey. Archiologists have tasted honey from Egyptian tombs and found it to be fine after thousands of years. I am sure the month or so on yours will be fine.

someone told me that honey never really expires.

I thought honey is one thing that does not go off.

As long as it’s not crystallized, I think it should be fine.

i dont think its safe to eat anything expired.

Honey is good for 2-3 years, do you remember when you bought it? It will be perfectly fine, most micro-organisms don’t grow in honey. It actually lasts longer than 2-3 years, in fact, edible honey has been found in pharaoh’s tombs in Egypt. But it’s at it’s best at 3 years max.

Honey does not expire. They found use able honey in the Egyptian tombs.
Because it has high sugar content it will not support molds.
If it has crystalized place the jar in warm water until it disolves.

Pure honey never goes bad. It can be years and years old and be fine to ingest.
