i don’t think that yogurt is able to be made in a slow cooker – I think that you would burn some of the ingredients. It should be made like the other dairy products – churn or easier — buy a yogurt maker/buy yogurt

i dont think u heat yougurt to make it.

well you could use a slow cooker, but not the way you think.. heres how I make home made yogurt..
take 1/2 cup of previous active culture live plain yogurt..
4 cups of regular liquid milk,, low fat is fine, but dont use skim..
heat the milk on stove top in sauce pan just till almost boiling, little bubbles start to show around edge.. remove and allow to cool.. test coolness by this method.. if you can hold your thumb in the milk and count to ten without scalding yourself, then it is cool enough.. then gently stir/fold in the 1/2 cup of prior yogurt.. (dont stir too hard or end product will be too tangy)
then I usually pour this into a huge camping metal/glass thermos container and let it sit overnight.. also I use any thermal cooking pan, some of the potluck take away containers you use when going to parties have a thermal lining with a thermal lid.. I use those also.. any sealed pan.. some cooks just put it in any old bowl, cover with saran wrap, and wrap then with a towel and let sit in a warm place overnight.. so heres where you can use your slow cooker..
turn it on low just till warmed, then turn it off.. pour the mixture in and put the lid on,, cover it with a tea towel to prevent air from excaping and let it sit out overnight (yes out) and in the morning you should have a soft set yogurt.. if you want it thicker, allow it to drain in a papertowel lined colander in fridge and you’ll have a thicker yogurt type cream cheese… goodluck!
