Is commercially available fruit sugar (fructose) any better for you compared to other refined sugars?
Is there any independent scientfic (non anecdotal) evidence that I would be any better off if I consume granulated fruit sugar instead of granulated cane or beet sugar?

all sugars (including refined and fruit-sourced) have similar chemical make-ups, so when ingested are digested into the same simple sugars like glucose and maltose. so you would get the same calorific value, although it might be more slowly released. the main advantage is tooth decay, which appears to be less pronounced in those who consume a smaller amount of cane sugar
Fructose doesn’t elevate Blood Glucose like other sugars and can help someone with a metabolic disorder(like me)
It is sugar, but it can be a better source than another sugar for some people.
