I’m sick and tired of all these people that think supplements are the only way to gain or lose weight?

I’m a 19 year old male that weighs around 125 now and probably made up of 4% body fat now. You must be wondering why i say “now.” The past 3 months I haven’t been working out due to testicular pain and for the past 6 months I haven’t lifted any weights due to college and work.

When I was a gym rat I use to have teenagers come up to me and straight up ask me “do you take creatine?!” this pissed me off that made me feel like a loser and a cheater. My response was “NO!”

I use to be a tubby guy weighed 155 pounds had cellulite on my stomach. Summer of 2005 i hit the teenage depression because of a bad relationship. So i started running lost 25 pounds in less than two weeks and my cellulite was gone. I ate chicken, legumes, fish, and wheat bread with peanut butter. When i was in top shape i was at 5’8″ heigh 140 pounds of muscle 7-9% body fat.

Supplements are not needed to lose weight its self motivation! that’s my point! You have to help yourself don’t depend on others.
I actually eat healthy and feel great. I do have my cheat days on the weekends. For example Saturday i might eat all the junk food i want but then after that day i stay away from junk food for 6 days. I also want to add that im currently sick with the common flu… I’m not taking any anti biotics and my body is fighting it off perfectly. There’s great benefits of eating healthy. Plus it prolongs life. That doesn’t mean we are invincible, i mean, i can die tomorrow or today you know? Eating chicken, fish and legumes are the bestest foods any human being can eat.

Supplements do bulk people up but! after time passes by the side effects kick in oh and if the person stops working out… watch out cause here comes the zag and the stretch marks.
My work out was:

Gym 2-4 hours depending on how energized i was which was mostly 4 hours. 5 times a week.

Running at a park or running up and down the hot arizona sand dunes.

Greco roman, free style, folk wrestling.

a little bit of martial arts

Jump roping for 30 minutes

The following was done in 45 min.
Shadow boxing for 5-10 mins

100 normal push ups

100 open push ups

100 close push ups

50 diamond push ups

100 crunches

100 side crunches

With all the processed crap out there it’s a lot easier to maintain a healthy diet with supplements

Some good points made. It’s always good to distinguish between what types of supplements you refer to. Vitamins, antioxidants and fish oils are recommended for most people.

Performance supplements should only be added to a program that is following a strict exercise and nutrition plan already. They should never come first.

I completely agree. Is just so bad for you and people don’t realise. being healthy is far more important than being slim and to be healthy you need the right amount of food in you

too right to loose weight and burn fat you need healthy a diet, plenty of exercise and a significant dose of determination. You don’t “need” supplements if you can adjust your diet accordingly. Although I do think supplements help if you are trying to bulk (obviously on top of a good diet)

i agree, i am a female bodybuilder who is always asked the same things it is annoying when people think you take heaps of supplements, i take nothing it is all hard work and determination, 6 days a week 3 to 4 hours a day. you dont need any of that stuff, you are just making other people rich and ripping yourself off.
