If a cake recipes calls for sugar, is it okay to substitute the sugar for an artificial sweetener?
Does the type of sweetener matter or are they all the same? Will some recipes be okay with sweetener while others will fail?

You can cook w/ Splenda instead of sugar. I have found that the items I’ve used Splenda instead of sugar are not as sweet but are still edible.
You can. It will turn out a little bit differently. I have used the baking splenda and that works pretty well.
try splenda they have a big bag that is made especially for baking its like an artificial sweetener but it taste just like sugar and doesn’t leave that nasty taste in your mouth and also keeps the cake moist as if it were real sugar where as a artificial sweetener would dry it out. they also have something similar made by equal i believe but i know from experience splenda is good just make sure you get the one for baking
They are not all the same, but you can use Splenda
