I want to start a small herb garden on my balcony (we live in south FL) but I have a bug phobia?



Any suggestions on how to start it and everything…not much of a green thumb here. I tried buying the actual herbs grown already but lifted the pot only to get covered in these little black bugs..I know it sounds silly but I want to grow some things like parsley, lemon grass..any tips?

You should be pretty bug free growing herbs, although you probably have bugs I’ve never heard of in the Dakotas. Try grouping your herbs close together if united they may run your black bugs off. If you identify your bugs, there are safe ways to deal with them. RScott

If you are afraid of it don’t do it you might not be able to take care of it. Even if you are afraid of it. Plus the hot weather there and Hurricanes don’t do it. Or do it and be calm.

You shouldn’t have any more bugs than you normally would otherwise… at least that you will see. Good luck…I recommend growing STEVIA. You will LOVE it!! You can bite right into the leaves and taste the sweet flavor.

I live in s. fla also and wanted to start a herb garden some one gave me these sites. i haven’t done it yet haven’t had the time.
