I want to make tea eggs, but I have no idea where to buy Star anise?
There are complicated and easier ways to make Tea Eggs but here is one of the recipe
eggs
5 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoon black tea leaves or 2 tea bag
3 piece star anise
1 small stick cinnamon or cassia bark
1 teaspoon cracked peppercorns (optional)
I am currently living in Hong Kong and I don’t know where to buy star anise. So today I bought Five spice powder today. Five spice powder already has star anise, so how many tea spoons of Five spice powder do i need ?

star anise is an herb.
Try a bulk food store in the spices and herbs section.
It is very tiny in size, like peppercorns in size.
Your recipe calls for three of these only and they may be available in a ground up form. the recipe calls for a very small amount.
