I never had food allergies as a child but I seem to have them now as an adult. Is this unusual?

At times one bite of a snow pea or apple or a couple of macadamia nuts makes me vomit immediately. Never had this issue before. Is it normal to develop food allergies as an adult?

absolutely. you can develop allergies to anything at anytime. sometimes you can have an allergy to something and it doesn’t cause problems until there’s a massive amount of it. and seeing as you’re instantly vomiting, sounds like you may not even be allergic, it could just be psychological.

unusual, but after years of exposure, maybe, see an allergist that specializes in food allergies. you need an Epi pen injector Rx and benadryl and need to see doctor, your food group isn’t connected, food allergies are rare.. maybe you could reproduce this in the doc’s office and he could see what happens?

your body changes constantly any day u can not be allergic to anything the next day you can be allergic to everything and then the next day you can not be allergic again if it prolongs go see your pediatrition

yup. not at all uncommon.

Get those checked out IMMEDIATELY, because that nut one could be really dangerous if you don’t do something about it.

its totally normal.

im alergic to chocolate :/ and i wasnt as a child.

now i am :/ ugh

Kate J is right. dont eat anything that you know youre allergic to especially the nuts. a lot of people die from nut allergies. talk to your doctor to getg more information

It does happen. And there isn’t always a logical pattern behind allergies either.

Nope. My food allergies didn’t develop until I hit the age of 30. Now all I can eat is soy, rice, and potato products. So No, it is not unusual AT All.
