U can eat fruits and vegetables. U cant eat anything wif sugar(i think not including fruit. but to stay on safe side and eat apples)

You can eat most foods, if you don’t have a weight problem, you just have to watch your BSLs.

There is a good website below.
You could also look at Diabetic Recipes.

I am a Type-2 diabetic and know from experience as well as consultations with my dietitian/nutritionist that you can eat anything that you want as long as you maintain your blood sugar levels within the limits set by your doctor. Fresh fruits are great to eat, apples, peaches or pears sprinkled with cinnamon are a wonderful snack and the cinnamon helps to control your blood sugar. You can eat any kind of meat that you like as well as eggs. You can also eat corn, wheat and buckwheat. Oatmeal is also very good for you. Also, stay away from sugar-free foods as the artificial sweeteners are actually worse for you than sugar, instead drink things like unsweetened Iced tea and coffee without sugar but if you must have a soda, drink regular and limit yourself to only one (per my dietitian and doctor). Any other questions that you have, you should discuss with your doctor and ask him/her to schedule you an appointment with a dietitian who specializes in working with diabetics.

You need to watch your blood sugar levels. I assume you’re testing daily, and your doctor has told you what to keep it under (my husband needed to stay under 120). Eat as little white sugar as you can (check labels); and limit your carbs (bread, corn, wheat, rice, beans) as carbs will raise your blood sugar …… Fresh fruit is good (watermelon might be a little too sweet) and all fresh veggies are good (bananas & avocados are wonderful) …. we also found that tofu will actually lower your blood sugar! …. Buy sugar-free items whenever possible; substitute Splenda for sugar at home…. and ask your own doctor for his suggestions

I also am a Type 2 diabetic (like Wedge) you can eat all fruits. Fruits such as grapes ;in moderation , I think the ADA. recommends ten grapes . Yes you can even eat corn, in moderation, ( remember it’s a starch;and all starches are broken down into glucose the simplest from of “fuel” for the body ;sugar) wheat is very good for so is buckwheat, they not only provide fiber, but they also slow down the absorption of glucose (so you don’t get that glucose “high”). You can eat only three whole eggs per week , that means in things you eat made with eggs as well) ,but eggs whites as many as you want. Almost any meats (3oz. portion size) ( red meat should be limited to three times a week though) but you know fish is better. Limit you fried foods (yes even you’re meat), bake them instead. A diabetic isn’t an easy life ,( such as testing you’re blood sugars ;daily& also keeping a record of them), to show you’re Dr. at the three month check-up, plus having a HbA1c ) but it is nessary steps to take to make sure you’re there for you’re future.
