I have a question about a fiber supplement i just bought.is it considered vegan ok?
Im vegan….and a friend told me i should take some sort of fiber supplement so i bought this peach flavored fiber supplement shake mix and it costed me a little over $30(is that a good price it has 28.6 0z; 30 servings)….the agredients are:
psyllium seed husk powder, insulin, rice bran, fructooligosaccharides, maltodextrin, oat fiber, apple fiber, Lactobacillus sporogenes (acid dolphilus), green tea leaf extract, grape seed extract (Vitis viniferal), burdock root powder (Arctium lappa), peppermint leaf powder, ginger root extract, aloe vera leaf extract, and licorice root powder.
The ingredients seemed ok 2 me is there any that wouldnt be considered vegan??
wat worries is a little part i hadnt seen is says : “Produced on equipment that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, EGG, wheat, sesame, SHELLFISH.
-like should i not take this fiber, i already opened so i cant return it i wanted to see how it looked,…lol
-would it be bad since im vegan if i took even though the egg
and shellfish are acually ingredients in the fiber????
thanx and sorry the questions so long, im just a little concerned…

personally as a vegan i think its fine. there isnt ACTUALLY shellfish and egg in it, thats just there for legal reasons.
The part about it being produced on machines that also process eggs, shellfish, etc. is there for people who are highly allergic to those items. Chances are there wouldn’t be even a trace of these items in the product, but if you could have a severe allergic reaction if the equipment is not cleaned well enough you don’t want to take the chance.
I would still consider the product vegan.
If you’re eating a proper vegan diet you should NOT need additional fiber. Much less highly processed packaged garbage.
Most lactobacillus comes from cows so it is not vegan.
You should be having a lot of fresh fruits and veggies. You can survive on prepackaged foods, but you’ll never thrive on it.
I like using Flaxseed it has fiber and protein in it. You can use it on anything food.
