I have a friend who I think might have cancer, what should i do?
She recently she showed me she had two lard lumps on both sides of her lower neck (one on each side) in an area between the lower neck and collar bone. I first thought it was just the lymph nodes swelling up because of a cold or something, but then it appeared that it was much lower than where the lymph nodes would typically be. I suspected she had cancer, so i told her to go see a doctor. She told me she hates doctors, plus i could be wrong. How can i convince her to go get a check up?

There are lymph nodes all up and down the neck, and in lots of other places.
Your friend should still see a doctor. Of course you could be wrong; that’s the whole point. Cancer would be pretty low on my list, assuming your friend is fairly young, but there are other things, like mono, that would be quite high. The only way she can know for sure is to go see her doctor.
If she is scared of seeing the doctor because she is afraid of being told she has cancer, I would advise you to stop mentioning it (especially as you certainly have no way of knowing that). Just encourage her to go and find out, because it is probably either something very treatable or nothing at all. It’s better to be safe than sorry, and much better to know that to just worry about it.
