I doubled the ingredients, should I double the bake time?

I’m making macaroni and cheese and it says it’s supposed to bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes but I doubled the recipe so now should I cook it for 30 minutes or what? I don’t know!

NO!!!!!! It’ll definitely burn everything…it may (maybe) need to stay in there for a BIT longer because of the quantity, but definitely not double the time….

cook it for 20, then see what happens

i believe i would do the same time and test it to make sure because you don’t want it overcooked

No, do not change cooking times. If it needs more time you can add it, But you cant get rid of it.

OMG! NO you’ll burn it just do it for about 15 minutes you’ll be fine
:D DD

NOOOOOOOO…dont do that..lol…only cook it for a little longer. its hard to tell when you double things, just watch it and when it gets done take it out. but dont just go off and double the time, it doesnt work well.

answer mine?

just check it every once in a while afta 15 mins and see if its hot. theres nothing in it that has to be “cooked” is there? your just heating it up..

dont double the time

keep the same time plus half that time

NO! DOUBLE THE PARTY TIME!

try cooking it for 20 minutes and then check on it later if its still not made set it for 10 minutes and see if its made

not necessarily double, but it will probably take a little longer.

When it is bubbling around the edges, it’s done!

no, you have to call upon the blood gates and bet your last wishes to the cd player making rabbits and then theyll feed it to their pet toothbrushes.

no way it will burn add like maybe 5 minutes and check it and maybe add more time if you need to

Double the time and see what happens lol I would [=

Just to be safe, put it in there for 15 minutes, and if it looks like it still needs cooked, put it in a little longer until it looks finished.

yes 30 min. but check it after like twenty just to be sure.

no you should not=]

No. You just use a longer baking dish, same depth as the single recipe would have used……..Keep it at 15 minutes…..

No…you would not double the bake time. You may have to cook it a little longer than 15 minutes. Check it at 20 minutes and see if it’s done, if not, cook it for 5 more minutes.

I highly doubt. Would you double heat to 800? NO! it would probably burst into flames! lol Well you probably want something bigger to cook it in because you want the macncheese spread out more so that the center gets cooked good but idk. Youl want to increase the time a small amount but certainly not double it. I never baked mac and cheese but i think your trying to just make it warm. But dont you cook noodles on stove first? if not then id say increase cook time. If not dont increase as long.

Since it’s a bigger pan, or a fuller pan, it will take longer to bake. If the original recipe bakes for only 15 mins, that means it’s just baking until it’s melted and hot in the middle. You can start checking it at 20 mins. See if it’s melted, then stick a butter knife in the middle, pull it out and touch the sauce left on the knife to see if it’s hot. It won’t be too fussy about exact timing.
