How does one put vinegar on fries?
I’ve met a couple of people who cook fries with vinegar. How do you add the vinegar to the fries? Doesn’t it make it taste bad?

I don’t like vinegar very much, but it is good on fries. If you just sprinkle a bit on them at dinner it tastes pretty good. I think it is a European maybe a German tradition. Germans also dip their fries in mayonnaise instead of ketchup! It is also good
Fish and chips (fries) are nothing without vinegar.
Top five fave dishes in UK.
Pour a little vinegar in the bottle cap and sprinkle from there . In the UK we have proper vinegar bottles with sprinklers in. Sprinkle on AFTER chips are cooked , not during cooking.
You just pour the vinegar over the chips, but not too much or they will go soggy.
Or you can dip them in a bowl of vinegar.
Vinegar on chips is essential, just sprinkle a bit on once they’re on your plate
PS “Hey” – REPORTED – how completely disgraceful of you
tastes great. you like ketchup? that’s just sugar and vinegar. sprinkle some on, or dip in a dish of vinegar.
the idea behind this is to get the vinegar to caramelise over the chips so, this is best done with oven baked chips. The amount of vinegar you put on depends on your personal taste. Bake the chips until golden brown oh and by the way it should be Balsamic vinegar that used.
Grab the bottle, put your finger over the spout and sprinkle some vinegar all over them. Be sure to add salt. This is the same concept as “salt and vinegar potato chips”….except it’s fries.
just put it and the grease when the fries are frying
Actually the traditional vinegar for fries is “Malt Vinegar” which has a distinctive tangy taste and is wonderful on fries. The fries are not cooked with the vinegar; it’s sprinkled on at the end. It’s so fantastic to have that sprinkled on and then dip your fries in mayonnaise or ketchup. Very tasty for sure! Try it, but make sure you use Malt Vinegar!
You don’t Cook them with vinegar, you sprinkle vinegar on after they are cooked or even dip them in vinegar.
Do NOT follow ” Nesha’s” advice, srinle vinegar in hot oil will burn you and cause a major mess and is dangerous.
this is common in Canada, and delicious. sprinkle lightly while warm, add some salt…yummy!!
A bit of balsamic vinegar sprinkled OVER the coked fries is just yum.
i put it on affter it’s cooked
