How does freezing milk keep it from expiring?

My grandmother always feezes milk before it expires. And takes it out of the freezer as she needs it.This makes it last atleast a week longer. How does freezing milk keep it from expiring?

Freezing many foods, including milk, inhibits the growth of bacteria that causes spoilage. So the frozen food lasts longer.

Bacteria grow and reproduce quicker at warmer temperatures. When they are frozen they hardly grow at all. The reason milk goes bad is that bacteria grow in it.

Milk is pasteurized which means it is brought to a temperature high enough to kill most of the bacteria in it, but still a few bacteria survive and grow. The expiration date is based on how quickly bacteria will grow if the milk is kept refrigerated. (Some places assume the milk may be left at room temperature for a while and put on quicker expiration dates.)

Because the bacteria do not grow while the milk is frozen, the milk does not spoil while frozen.

well ur grandmother is kinda weird…cuz nobody freezes there milk

colder temps slow the growth of bacteria why do you think hospitals are so cold.
