How do you make sure rice doesn’t stick to the bottom and sides of the rice cooker so that it’s easy to clean?

It’s especiallhy hard to remove rice which has hardened . What’s the best technique to remove them? I tried steel wool but it scratches the surface of the container. Is there a specific technique I don’t know about that you can do to make sure that it doesn’t stick to the sides and bottom in the first place?

put tap water in it then leave it for a while. the rice will soften and cleaning will be a breeze.

I use a non-stick (teflon coated) pot. rice never sticks to the bottom. =)

use a non-stick pot. to remove rice that has dried up, soak with water for an hour or so then use a dishwashing brush. that’ll do the trick. good luck.

Just keep stirring it all the time. And investm in a non-stick pan.

try cooking oil spray (like Pam)

just add some butter or oil to the rice while cooking. Or by some good rice like long grain rice and don’t let your rice burn. Boil the water first until it is bubbling in the pan. Wash your rice in some warm water to remove the dirty starch. When finish drain the washed rice and place it in a the boiling pan of water. Low down the heat cover the pan and let the steam cook the rice.
Hope this helps.

when I am through with mine I just put it in the sink and fill with hot water and a squirt of dishsoap, and it loosens up after awhile, discard rice, and clean as usual.

Keep stirring than remove to a bowel if still left with a mess bakeing soda will clean you up after a little soak time

not sure if it makes a difference or if you already do it, but rinse the rice off before you cook it. Run water through the rice until it isn’t cloudy. If you use a rice cooker there is no reason it should stick to non-stick :)
