How can I remove olive oil from my BRAND NEW composite deck? I dropped a plate that had some oilive oil on it.

I tried using soap and water, then seltzer, but there are still splatter stains. How can I remove the olive oil without changin g the color of the decking?

Hot , I mean very hot, but not boiling water and a dish soap that “cuts grease”. Scrub with a hand brush and rinse again with hot water. Good luck.

a pail of warm water , a scrub brush and some TSP then rinse

use DAWN dish detergent, as it seems to be the best general detergent for removing grease. You will need a brush and plenty of clean rinsing water. It is possible that the olive oil has absorbed into the grain, but if your deck is composite (not wood, right?) then the deck is made of petroleum product and the olive oil may have bonded to it.

A little elbow grease and DAWN should help. Good luck
