Has anyone tried “oil pulling” ? Does it work?
That’s when you swish and suck a table spoon of oil between your teeth and all round your mouth for around 10-20 min. It’s supposed to make your gums, teeth and skin healthier and cure all sorts of illnesses.
I’ve read you can use different types of oils. (coconut, sesame sunflower…)

I read a lot about it once, but decided against trying it. One of the negative side effects was that it can mess up your dental fillings, since it pulls metals from the body.
I’ll see if I can find the website.
Edit: Did a search on “oil pulling and fillings” and got a bunch of hits. Seems like some people have no side effects, while others do get loose fillings. But then you can always have the amalgam fillings replaced with composite if they do get loose. The mercury in them is bad for you anyway. Note: this is only a problem if you have “silver” feelings, not the white kind.
Anyway, I’d be interested to hear from someone who does it, too!
